Remote mammography reading without the mammography workstation
Remote reading transformed most of radiology and left breast imaging behind. Mammography, CAD and 3D tomography studies have typically required hospitals to invest in costly, dedicated, on-site mammography workstations to handle the extensive data sets and high-resolution images involved. That has historically been a substantial obstacle to reading these studies remotely. DocPanel set out to remove it.
By the numbers
Since adopting the Mach7 solution for mammography reading, DocPanel has experienced:
- A 50% increase in total mammography coverage
- A 50% reduction in necessary resources, due to software efficiency
- 2X the total number of weekly mammography readings
At a glance
- Organization: DocPanel, a subspecialty radiology network addressing radiology resource shortages and burnout
- Footprint: A network of 700 fellowship-trained radiologists providing dedicated coverage across the US healthcare system
- In use: eUnity Enterprise Diagnostic Viewer, Mach7 VNA with native storage in AWS S3
