Abstract

With the constant increase in the image data across the continuum of medical imaging informatics, a substantial challenge lies in managing it. According to varied retention policies and interpretational demands, there is a dire need for effective exchange of information between disparate systems.

In this white paper, the intention is to detail some unique aspects of medical imaging data from oncology and to explain why it is essential to have a "Vendor Neutral Enterprise Imaging Platform" in place to achieve a seamless exchange of oncology images between clinicians, diagnostics modalities and therapy planning systems.
